Flushing – Main Street

Who doesn’t  like to travel and discover new cultures, people and places; well what if I say you can travel to Asia in New York, I know what are you thinking you have heard about  Manhattan’s Chinatown. But this time I’m talking about Flushing Main Street. I had talked about this place in my other blogs but it was very briefly so I had decide to make a blog about it.

If you have ever wonder how is too live in Asia, or become fluent in Mandarin or Korean language this is your place to be. Downtown Flushing is known for its Bakeries,  easy transportation into Manhattan and for their  “Most authentic Asian cousin”

The second most crowded place in NYC after Times Square of course.  Walking around Main you might feel you have felt the New York. every where you look around in Main Street is not written in English anymore or at least the biggest sings is all about Chinese Mandarin or Korean. I just found that fascinating how a place can change so much, and of course the majority of the population in Flushing is Asian even going to a super market is a totally different adventure, got to say not my favorite but still fun.

I love how Flushing keeps growing with technology and their nice looking scenery, buildings and shops. And most of the food, I would lie if I say I didn’t have some favorites, because every time I’m in Flushing I like to try new things and so far i have never been disappointed. But if you are thinking on going for the first time i will share some of the places you need to try fist.

Queens Crossing Mall on the ground level food court – It’s like entering to a whole new world of the best Asian food. Japanese, Taiwanese, korean, chinese and so much more

The Coop- Original Korean style chicken

The Spot- Most delicious desserts, with a twist of adventure, all for pictures and Instagram posts.

Bubble Tea- they are pretty much in every Corner in Main street, refreshing and delicious drinks with tapioca.

XIAN famous food- Their Lamb soup is just a party of flavors, highly recommend this place. Also if you are vegetarian you will find a lot to choose from in any of this places.

Now you know if you are feeling adventures and want to try something new hop on the “Seven Train” and get of on the last stop Flushing Main Street.

Another great year in this crazy amazing city, this year winter is not joking for sure, its been super cold windy and snowy.  as always during holiday season the city is really busy. Let say that during this season always take me double of the time moving around the city, so many people from all over the world. I like to play with my sister as we talk around the city “guess in what language they are speaking” Something that never gets old is to see the reaction of people faces when they see something in the city for the first time.

the city is getting ready for the special count down in times square tomorrow and for the many who like to go out and welcome the new year in Times Square I will give you some tips: 1- Make sure you get to Times Square early enough so you can pick your spot, and when I say early I’m not joking.  2- make sure you eat good because you might not be able to leave your spot. 3- bundle up  the weather tomorrow it will be freezing,  last but not lease ENJOY every single minute left you have this year. go out of your comfort zone and take the best before you say goodbye 2017 and Hello 2018!

well my friends this is all for this year its been amazing to share my journal with you’ll until next year! Be happy and remember ALWAYS Chase your Dreams

First Date Tips!

Why is so hard to find the right person for you, is it because you are looking to  hard or because there is none? To be honest sometimes us girls don’t really give guys the change to show more. I know what are you thinking some guys need more extra time to be discover but went you pass the “macho man” face you will see “Prince Charming”

so for you beautiful people out there I will give you five tips you might want to try next time you find that special someone.

Things you shouldn’t do on your first day.

1- Don’t ask or talk about you Ex. They are already an “X” on your life so why to bring them back on the topic.

2- Don’t look too desperate, this can be hard sometimes if you have been single for a while, but you don’t want to let the other know that  so play it cool, that’s always the trick.

3- Never lie, lying always end up bad and the true will always come out

4- Listen not just talk about yourself all the time, nobody likes a selfcenter person, let the other person talk.

5- Never think that there is something wrong with you, sometimes you will have to pass a lot of wrongs to find the RIGHT.

DO’s

1- Be yourself, if the persoimg_5615n likes you he/she would likes you because of who you are.

2- Be independent. Yes ladies show the guy that you can pay for yourself, and you are not just looking for a free meal.

3-Have a good sense of humor

Free NYC Attractions

I’m sure you have heard that NYC is the place to be, and the truth is that even though that cost of living here is very high. What you didn’t know is that pretty much all most famous NY attraction are “FREE” sounds great right? You can walk up and down in the city and wont cost you a penny, and if you are lucky you might see a movie being film or Nick Jonas rehearsing for the MTV awards right on 34ST & 8th ave. (That had happened to me a few times)

So here are some of the places that won’t cost you nothing and  I’m sure you will enjoy and fall in love even more with this city

Brooklyn bridge and Brooklyn bridge park . The views you will get from this places are amazing. and if you are feeling hungry you can try NY most famous pizza places Juliana’s or Grimaldi’s don’t let the long lines outside the restaurants stop you for trying authentic NY pizza the wait is so worth it. While you are enjoying the walk up in the Brooklyn Bridge make sure to watch out for crazy bike riders I had seen so many people get hit by bikers.

High Line in Chelsea, and The Chelsea Market. These 2 places are great the High Line is such an enjoyable place for walking and while you enjoy the views you are surrounded by nature and some great pieces of art. Chelsea Market is just fun to see you will find so many different places to eat and shop.

Soho.Who doesn’t like to shop, well if you do Soho is your place to be, so many different shops pretty much you will find all the most popular stores. and who knows you might end up walking side by side with super model. They like to shop in Soho.

The Moma is a contemporary Museum, you will have to pay to enter on that one but if you go on Wednesday entrance is free so is the Bronx zoo.

Life in New York City

img_4728If you are not from or live in New York, have you ever wonder what life is like….. I had!

let me tell you a little bit of my story; right before I moved to NY in 2010 I used to live in a Southwestern State nice, calm, hot and big! Every year at the end of the year I like to start my new year watching on TV the ball drop from Times Square I just feel like is such an excited moment to countdown 5-4-3-2-1- and see all those billions pieces of paper come down and see people cold and ecxiteed the kissing around. Well I didn’t know this before but if you want to be in front line for the time the ball drops you have to be there since very early in the morning, and you can’t leave your spot not even for a bathroom break. so I’m more than sure that by 12:05 am everybody is so ready to leave Times Square and go to bed.

when I had to move I knew I was going to miss all that friends, family my house and pretty much everything. but I’m not gonna lie I was so extremely happy, excited over joy I had planned all my future life in my head of course, you know dreams and I was so ready to chase my dreams!!!

When I first arrived to NYC I was with my youngest sister, it was her and me nobody else but 2 young girls. coming from a very hot state we didn’t know that cold weather wasn’t a joke, it was in the middle of December everybody said it was the coolest winter in New York. so the first thing we did was buy jackets, we didn’t have so much money, but we did have the energy to work for it or at least I did my sister was too young to work.

So with no working experience but the willing to do new and good thing I found a job I was so happy I remember. I was working in Wall Street a very important part of the USA, because that’s were the financial stock market is of course I wasn’t working in the financial building but I  was pretty close I got to walked in front of the building every day  on my way to work back then that for me was good enough, I was so happy.

since English is not my first language it was a bit more challenging and when I think about the past I look back and I realize I was so naive. for those who doesn’t know what the word means i will tell you; Naive means “a person who easily believe anything because you don’t know any better or lack of experience” well that’s exactly how I was, I would believe everything someone would tell me. That was my biggest mistake I had always try to be the best and give my 1000% in everything life, work, friends, family and since It was just my sister and I and this big city I wanted to be the best for her.

sadly when it comes to work and fake friends being naive it is really bad, people will take advantage of you. but I learned from my mistakes and happy to say I learned fast. from that moment until now I have grown as a person and I keep growing and learning everyday.

Life in NYC is amazing is excited is adventures. full of new people and things. You only have to brave enough and take every opportunity that you have it might only comes once in a lifetime, so I say Do Always your BEST, and feel proud of yourself for small or big achievements, not matter where you are always CHASE YOUR DREAMS!!!

The beginning

I never thought I was going to be one of the many people who finds comfort on sharing stories on a blog but here we go.

I have always been very positive, just trying my best since day one, but being the happy face all times around  is not always easy, some people might look happy but are they really?

I had to move several times from country to country, all the process have been challenging but, I had learned that you can decide if you take the good parts of the changes or you live with the problems.

For now I have decide i will stay positive and grateful for every moment, every day,. So if you think like me I say lets start this “roller coaster ride’ TOGETHER.

If you were wondering where this journal begins, I will say…..

I’m just a girl living in her dreams but currently in New York City
